🚨 Troubleshooting AutoDM Issues on SuperProfile

Having trouble with AutoDM on SuperProfile? Here’s a complete guide to the most common issues creators face and how to fix them quickly.

🔁 400 – Session Invalid Error

Cause: This usually happens due to expired or throttled Instagram sessions.

Fix:

  • Wait and retry after 1 hour

  • If it still doesn’t work, try again after 3 hours

  • In rare cases, wait up to 6 hours for the session to reset


📱 Instagram Not Connecting (iPhone-Specific)

Issue: iPhones sometimes block redirection during Instagram connection.

Fix:

  1. Uninstall the Instagram app from your iPhone

  2. Return to SuperProfile and attempt to connect again (it will open via Safari/Chrome)

  3. After a successful connection, reinstall the Instagram app

Still stuck? Wait 1–6 hours and retry - session-level throttling might be in play.


🚫 AutoDM Not Sending Messages

Cause: A required Instagram permission is disabled.

Fix:

  1. Open the Instagram app

  2. Go to: Settings > Messages and Story Replies > Message Requests

  3. Enable “Allow Access to Messages” under Connected Tools

⚠️ Without this, AutoDM cannot send messages on your behalf.


🔗 CTAs Not Clickable (Especially on Android Devices)

Issue: Links (like Google Drive) in AutoDMs aren't opening on certain phones (e.g. OnePlus).

Fix:

  • Use SuperProfile’s Superlinks feature to shorten the URL - this improves link compatibility and click-through rates.

📌 Note: Instagram’s in-app browser often restricts clickable elements like buttons or links. This is a platform limitation.


📸 Stories Not Showing in AutoDM Setup

Cause: AutoDM only supports original stories - not shared or reposted content.

Fix:

  • Make sure the story you want to use was posted by you originally

  • Reposts from other accounts won’t appear in setup options


⏱️ Delay in Comment Replies

Cause: Meta rate-limits comment replies to prevent spam.

Fix:
No action needed. AutoDM queues replies and sends them slowly to comply with Meta’s rules.


🔌 Account Got Disconnected from AutoDM

Possible Reasons:

  • You changed your Instagram password

  • You revoked SuperProfile access from Instagram settings

Fix:

  • Reconnect your Instagram account via the SuperProfile dashboard


🆕 You Changed Your Instagram Username

Issue: AutoDM follow-checks and other features may stop working.

Fix:

  • Go to your AutoDM dashboard on SuperProfile

  • This will refresh your username and restore full functionality


🟢 You Shared a Post with “Close Friends”

Issue: AutoDM will not trigger on Close Friends-only content.

Cause: Meta restricts automation tools from accessing Close Friends stories or posts.

Fix:
Share posts with All Followers or a Public audience to enable AutoDM.


🤖 Using Multiple Automation Tools

Issue: AutoDM messages aren’t being sent consistently.

Cause: Webhook conflicts with other automation tools (e.g., ManyChat, MobileMonkey)

Fix:

  • Disconnect other tools before using AutoDM

  • Running multiple tools can also increase the risk of being flagged by Meta
