If your Facebook Page connection breaks, your Messenger automations pause until you reconnect. It’s quick to fix — and reconnecting brings every automation right back to life.

What “broken connection” means
To send DMs on your behalf, AutoDM holds a secure connection to your Facebook Page — the permission you granted when you logged in with Facebook. That connection can lapse for a few normal reasons, and when it does, your automations simply stop firing until you re-establish it.

When the connection drops, AutoDM shows a prompt or banner asking you to reconnect.
Why connections break
A Page connection usually breaks for one of these reasons:
You changed your Facebook password. Changing your password can invalidate the existing connection.
AutoDM’s permissions were removed. If the app’s access was revoked in your Facebook settings, AutoDM can no longer manage the Page.
The access expired. Connections can expire over time and need to be renewed.
⚠️ While the connection is broken, automations are paused
Nothing sends — no comment-to-DM, no incoming-message replies, no referral/QR DMs — until you reconnect the Page. The automations themselves aren’t deleted; they’re just waiting.
How to reconnect
Look for the reconnect prompt
When the connection breaks, AutoDM shows a prompt or banner inviting you to reconnect the affected Page. You’ll see it on the automation or in your AutoDM accounts.

Make sure you’re a Page admin
Just like the first time you connected, you need to be an admin of the Facebook Page to reconnect it. If your admin role on the Page was removed, you’ll need that restored first.
Log in with Facebook and grant the permissions again
Click the reconnect prompt, log in with Facebook, and grant the permissions AutoDM asks for (managing the Page’s messages, reading engagement, managing posts). This re-establishes the secure connection.
Confirm the Page is back
Once reconnected, the Page reappears as connected under Messenger in your AutoDM accounts, and the reconnect banner disappears.
💡 Reconnecting restores your automationsYou don’t have to rebuild anything. Your existing automations — triggers, keywords, messages, follow-ups, delays — all start working again the moment the Page is reconnected. Just check that each one’s status toggle is still enabled.
Avoiding future breaksIf you change your Facebook password, expect to reconnect afterwards — it’s a good moment to check AutoDM.
Don’t revoke AutoDM’s access in your Facebook app settings unless you intend to stop using it.
If you manage the Page with a team, keep your own admin role active so you can reconnect when needed.
Frequently asked
Will I lose my automations if the connection breaks?
No. The automations stay put and are simply paused. Reconnecting the Page brings them all back exactly as they were.
I don’t see a reconnect prompt, but DMs stopped. What should I check?
First, confirm the Page still appears as connected, and the automation’s status toggle is enabled. If sending still fails, work through My automation isn’t triggering for the other common causes.
Someone else is the Page admin — can they reconnect?
Reconnecting must be done by an admin of the Page through their Facebook login. If that’s a teammate, they can reconnect; otherwise, have your admin role restored first.
